Product Details

ATV specialist Polaris has introduced the world's first 4x4 electric all terrain vehicle. Called the Ranger EV, it shares its chassis with the Ranger 400 and has many of the features of its full-size counterparts.

These include on-demand all-wheel drive, independent rear suspension, high ground clearance and what is claimed to be the longest suspension travel in its class.

The Ranger EV features what Polaris says is the largest battery pack in the industry (11.5kW) and the longest range of any electric mid-sized ATV.

It has a 30hp electric motor, 35-45 mile range, 25mph top speed and two hours of riding time between charges. Mainstream agriculture may not be its primary market, but it's ideal for any uses where silent running is a real bonus, ie estate and local authority work, groundscare, horticulture, equestrian and farm parks.

For sensitive terrain the Ranger EV has Versa Trac turf mode which unlocks the rear differential giving one-wheel, rear-wheel-drive to prevent damage and better navigate tight areas.

The unit features three modes: High for speed, Low for towing and hauling and Max for maximum range. When the going gets tough the on-demand all wheel drive kicks in. Towing capcity is 567kg and there's a 227kg lock-and-ride cargo box.

The 48V AC induction motor's battery pack is charged using a standard socket. The Ranger EV comes with a certified roll-over protection structure (ROPS) and offers 25.4cm (10in) ground clearance.
